The Daleks are kind of a tragedy. I mean, yes, they’re monsters. They’re genetically-engineered monsters, bred to survive their planet’s slow, ludicrous suicide. But they’ve also been genetically-engineered to experience no emotion except hatred. (Davros was an incredibly screwed-up guy from an incredibly screwed-up culture.)
I can’t help but feel bad for the individual Daleks. They really don’t have much choice but to be conscienceless killing machines.
