Anonymous asked: Not a question but a wish; you seem really happy at Marvel but I really wish DC would hire you to re-work their line. You seem to like their characters and have a better understanding of the needs of creatives than the current DC caretakers.
Well, thank you, that’s a lovely thought. But I’m not moving to California.
Also, not that Brevoort’s not a talented editor – I know I criticize him all the time, but he IS good at what he does, it’s just that he and I have very different philosophies when it comes to how the comics industry should run and how to interact with fans – but DC’s publishing arm and its editorial highups would hardly let a single editor buck the trend. They’re dead-set on this whole new direction they have going for themselves, and while a lot of fans, me included, may think a lot of it (with notable exceptions; anything by Gail Simone, for example) sucks, that’s just the way it is.
So, you know. Probably a good thing DC moved its offices across the country.
