Anonymous asked: So you care about Hawkeye being abused, but not She-Hulk abusing unarmed students during AvX simply for being mutant, clear to see where priorities lie...

I don’t really care about either, to tell you the truth.

A point about the comics industry here, one that I haven’t made in a longish time and feel like making again.  Actually, it’s true about just about all the professional sources of entertainment available that I know of.

The people who produce your favorite entertainment are probably not fans of same.

They – obviously I’m generalizing here – don’t love it the way fans do.  They don’t care about it the way fans do.  It’s a job for most of them; a show to finish filming on time, a comic to get done by deadline, a draft of a novel to redo, a song to get in the can.  They aren’t going to be as invested in the world they’re creating as the fans are.

Which is not to say that they don’t care!  I’m sure they do.  Hell, a lot of people in all sorts of branches of entertainment – especially people who get into collaborative stuff like comics or SF staples like Star Trek and Star Wars – are fans themselves.  But I think they get put under the grind of getting the work done takes away their joy.

And – I add, like Seneca the Elder used to end all his speeches (no matter what they were about) in the Roman Senate with the truest thing he knew, the fact that Carthage ought to be destroyed – Tom Brevoort is a dick.
